WELCOME TO CENTURIES IN THE ART WORLD!
This web page will deal specifically with just a few of the great artists of our time! From paintings to sculptures; from frescoes to abstract art; from lithographs to modern technology art, and everything in between! It will also cover insights into the artists' backgrounds- how and why they chose there styles of painting, what made their art famous, and how certain pieces got their name. Ever wonder what the artist was thinking when he created a certain piece, where did the inspiration come from? I have. I hope I can answer some of those questions here, and that it will be as interesting for you to read about, as it was for me to put together! Have fun!! :) |
^ GIRL WITH WATERING CAN by RENOIR
This has always been one of my favorite paintings! It was painted in 1876, by Pierre Renoir. I think it's a favorite because it's simple, sweet and it just 'flows'. It hangs at The National Gallery of Art, in Washington, D.C. |
